Garrett Love Elected National Sorghum Producers Chairman During Annual August Board Meeting

LUBBOCK, Texas (October 5, 2026) — The National Sorghum Producers board of directors elected Garrett Love of Montezuma, Kansas, as chairman at the board’s annual August board and budget meeting.

“It is a great honor to step into this role and serve the growers who make up National Sorghum Producers,” Love said. “Sorghum has been an important part of not only my own farming operation, but also the operations of thousands of farmers across the sorghum belt. I understand firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing producers today. I’m grateful for the leaders who have built this organization and for the opportunity to work alongside our growers, staff and industry partners. I look forward to building on that work and making sure sorghum continues to have a strong voice as we look toward the future.”

Love is a farmer from southwest Kansas where he grows sorghum, wheat, corn, soybeans and feeds cattle. He previously served in the Kansas Senate from 2011 to 2017, where he chaired the Senate Agriculture Committee.
