National Sorghum Producers Thanks President Trump, Secretary Rollins and Senator Marshall for Harvest Fuel Relief

WASHINGTON (Oct. 20, 2026) — National Sorghum Producers welcomes President Donald Trump’s announcement of $8 billion in assistance through USDA’s Harvest Fuel Relief program to help farmers manage higher fuel and input costs. NSP thanks President Trump, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall for their leadership in advancing this support during harvest.

“Sorghum farmers are facing tight margins, and higher diesel costs put even more pressure on our ability to bring a crop to market,” said NSP Chairman Garrett Love, a sorghum farmer from Montezuma, Kansas. “We thank President Trump and Secretary Rollins for responding to those challenges, and Sen. Marshall for championing relief and keeping farmers’ needs front and center. This assistance will provide welcome support as growers finish harvest and prepare for the next growing season.”

Administered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency, the program will provide one-time payments to help cover a portion of modeled losses for the 2026 crop year. USDA plans to announce commodity-specific payment rates for Title I crops in November.

NSP looks forward to working with USDA on timely implementation and will share payment rates and application information with sorghum growers as details become available.
